        I'm not so sure. In my view there will still be Excel and/or Access solutions keeping things together for a long, long time yet. From a Finance angle as a freelance Finance Manager they are most often the only solution available to reconcile the mess left from poorly setup/maintained systems where all the resource is now pointing to 'leading edge' technology.

          Thanks to those that responded - especially SpaceCadet who resolved the issue I had.

          Here's another one: can you set a "Master" Header and Footer that appears on all worksheets or do I have to go in and add a Header/Footer to each sheet individually?

          TIA.

            macros:

            Code:
            Sub SetAllHeaders()

                Dim wsheet As Worksheet
                Dim basesheet As String

                basesheet = "sheet1"

                For Each wsheet In Worksheets

                If wsheet.Name <> basesheet Then

                   With wsheet.PageSetup
                       .LeftHeader = Sheets(basesheet).PageSetup.LeftHeader
                       .CenterHeader = Sheets(basesheet).PageSetup.CenterHeader
                       .RightHeader = Sheets(basesheet).PageSetup.RightHeader
                       .LeftFooter = Sheets(basesheet).PageSetup.LeftFooter
                       .CenterFooter = Sheets(basesheet).PageSetup.CenterFooter
                       .RightFooter = Sheets(basesheet).PageSetup.RightFooter
                   End With

                End If

                Next wsheet
            End Sub
            obviously you'll need to tailor it for your needs!
