Well i've had IE back for one night now, and guess what...I have a virus.
It's called MSB and it is a web page that keeps popping up every 20 seconds telling me I need to make a payment for a site I previously visited but doesnt give the site name. I used Norton and Ad-aware. Norton didnt even find it and when ad-aware got to it it crashed. It makes me unable to go on web and you have to veiw everything in minimise as it goes on top. I would download Mozilla again but as I said its disabling my internet so I'm stuck!
I need advice, please!
Easy. Go to another computer, download Firefox, save onto USB stick. Return to original PC, copy FF across and install. The use that to download and run Windows Defender, Ad-Aware etc. If necessary uninstall IE7, or repair it. I think there's an option somewhere to re-set IE7. Probably best to uninstall it and start again.
Then - obtain large box, place PC in it. Cover liberally in petrol and set fire to it.
I got this on my home laptop this weekend. As soon as i started using it it went wrong. Everything I search on Google wont work. When I click it it will just visit the same random page and no matter what i do it wont work properly.
I previously used mozilla but needed to create extra space so deleted it.
HELP!
I sounds like a virus or spyware on your laptop. Spyware will redirect your searches. Dowload a check for spyware.

IE7 just seriously broke the clients PC i've been using.
After logging on explorer refused to start up meaning no desktop or task bar or start menu.
Kept getting an error along the lines of:
"iertutil.dll was not found"
Heres MY fix: (MY fix as in it worked for me)
1. ctrl+alt+delete and open task manager
2. start a new task (File->new task(run)): appwiz.cpl
3. from Change or Remove programs, Uninstall IE7, restart once its uninstalled

Are you sure it says MSB and not MBS??
If its MBS, boot in safe mode and delete these files:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\mbssm32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\mbsrm32.exe
then reboot.
(Or, rather than delete, maybe rename to mbssm32.old or something just on the off chance it's not causing the problem, in which case you can rename back later in necessary.).
