    New laptop/tablet recommendations

Looking at the Dell XPS 13" 2-in-1 (recommended by architect doing Windows 10 rollout at clientco)

Needs to be quite beefy as I do music production (Ableton Live) and good for a few years.

    Anything better value out there?

I quite like the surface book 2, thinking of upgrading soon. I would go for the 15 inch screen and probably spec it up as much as possible.

+1, typing this on a Surface book (1st gen), only downsides of it are the price tag and the way to gathers dust even when closed due to the gap caused by the specific hinge.

Had XPS13 until 2011 or something when the build quality took a nosedive. Every piece of Dell gear in the past several years from laptops to servers has shown a decline in build quality.
