Yes! I didn't know what an ARP table was until two minutes ago but it shows up as a dynamic ip with a physical address.

Hang on. I installed some Cisco Remote Connect software a couple of weeks ago and since then I've not been able to MSTSC onto the missus machine - related?

Had the same prob with a Cisco ASA, someone got a subnet slightly wrong ended up with arp table full of duplicate MAC addresses. Had to cron a job on every host to manually manipulate the arp table till we figured out what the issue was.
