For the tax savings involved, don't expense it, not worth it. Especially if family members who are not part of MyCo use it.

Depends where you are coming from, if your MyCo already has an email account set up with some hosting, assume the same as your website than probably not, as for the other features will you use them? SharePoint?!

I can only see it possibly being worth your while if you are setting up from scratch.

I was thinking more along the lines of the license perspective of the "home" version being used for profit. I would imagine if you don't expense it through the business, it would be near impossible to prove either way.
However, if you want to take advantage of the email hosting features etc, then the business license is the only way to go.

"Home" version is just reduced functionality.
It's also a marketing tool so that companies who could run perfectly OK using it feel like they need to buy one that doesn't say Home on the box, because they are a business.

There's no tax/expenses/etc issue with it.

No difference in applications, home you can install on 5 PC's Personal 1 Licensed for Home use only

"Regular" Office

Home & Student doesn't come with Outlook, Licensed for Home use only
Home & Business includes Outlook but not Access Licensed for Home and Business use
Professional includes Outlook and Access Licensed for Home and Business use

I know this is an older thread, but I went down the Office2010 route (I don't need the functionality of office 365), and looked at ebay.... if anybody is thinking of doing the same, I would suggest they DONT!!!

Tried 3 different purchases....

1) First was for a download, code and key-gen. The key-gen software was scanned and had 5 Trojans and 12 viruses. I didn't run it, but just ran it through a few virus checkers after download. That was an £18 version
2) Next, I went for a physical disk and code (£47) - disk arrived, looked good. Code was included on a MS sticker. I googled the installation code - it was listed on 200+ web sites. MS had already blocked it. It was a fake
3) Next I went for a "NEW" sealed disk and code from Ireland - £89. Again, looked good, disk had holograms, install key on MS label. Google check of the code - no web listings of it. However, MS rejected the code both on the internet and also by phone.

In all cases, I got my money back, but it took between 30 and 50 days for ebay/paypal to admit they were dodgy and return the money.

They might be OEM licenses too. So you wouldn't be able to move it to another computer at a later date.
