I usually only use the phone bit of mine about once a week, to call my mum. If the phone bit stopped working, but the rest of it was OK, I'd probably just dig my old Nokia out of the cupboard once a week instead, while continuing to carry my handheld computer everywhere.

I'd say most people doing that are well aware that they are only saving 20% of the price by putting it through their company.

Oddly enough I thought that was one of Apples downfalls bearing in mind how fragile the screens are and the argument about the OS slowing down at regular points. Guess it depends on the case you have

I've had every single model of iPhone from the 3G and never used a case, nor screen protectors. Not one of the phones I've had has had a broken screen or even a scratch on it apart from the case on the plastic backed 3G & 3GS. From the 4 onwards, I've found them all to be pretty tough. I even dropped a 4 from about 4ft onto my tiled kitchen floor... It landed face down and survived without a mark on it, so they're not that fragile.

Cheap phone.. If youre not to fussed about apps and just want mail (excellent) phone, SMS and a web browser then windows phones are cheap and decent...

Im some what stuck in the Apple Iphone loop, right from the days of the 3G, with ipads, apple TV et All its makes it difficult to pull out, double jeopardy is the Apps I have most valuble my navigation software which I purchased and regularly updates itself and POI`s.
just been talking with colleagues this afternoon does anyone understand why places like CEX and GAME are punting out second hand iphones at prices that are just short of new, beyond believable why people would pay it.
