My laptop died a couple of weeks ago. I have bought an external caddy for it hard disk. Most of the data is accessable - what I cant get to is the stuff which was saved under my name as I used 2 accounts on the laptop. Anybody know of something which can change the permissions easily? I get access is denied on everything.

I used to have to ask a teacher for permission. Perhaps you ask the woman sitting on the desk at the hand of the office to sign you a note.

Change the owner using properties, security, advanced, owner and tick the replace owner on subdirectories bit.
