My Awkward Accountant - MVL Process
I'm having frustrations with my accountant (they are one of those cloud accountants which lack that personal touch), and wondered if anyone else has gone through similar.
I've recently ceased trading and informed my accountant that I'd like to close the company via MVL and get to the...

Advice on Closing my Ltd Company without incurring excessive Accountancy Fees
In the current situation I have recently taken a permanent job and have enquired with my Accountants, Clearsky, the fees for dissolving the company. There are no debts, no assets, it has not been trading for 6 months, corporation tax is all paid up and just a deferred balance of £65 in VAT remains...

Take a 45% cut post tax for a perm job to just about pay off the bills or wait?
If anyone is considering a break after finishing a contract recently and is wondering what the market is like, well it's bad. Really bad. Having been on the bench late last year, then started a new gig briefly to then be diagnosed with a serious illness that laid me off work from March to June (yes...

Liquidation: Directors Loan in Credit
A couple of years ago a company I was a director of(4 directors in total) was liquidated. A couple of weeks ago I got a letter from a chartered accountancy firm asking me to repay £3800. When I questioned why, they explained to me that my directors loan account had reduced from 12000 to 8200 in the...

Can I liquidate my company with an MVL without repaying the director's loan?
I am looking to close my company via an MVL but the DLA balance is £62,007. I understand many liquidators require that all debts be repaid before getting involved in case of unexpected liabilities. My company's retained profit is around £65,000, so it would be used to pay off the loan. Given that...Last edited by Guest22; 8 November 2015, 11:20.

Unpaid Invoices - But Rather Complicated
In 2009 my Agency went into liquidation and I lost some 11 weeks of money (as did several others). The writing was on the wall so I had not submitted invoices for some 6 weeks.
The agency was finally declared dissolved mid 2013 and so in Sep 2013, I sent my unpaid invoices directly to...
