Which distro for a netbook?
Looking for some recommendations from those of you who've installed a flavour of Linux on a netbook. The machine in question is the Lenovo S12 ION, and I'm doing this for a silver surfer friend of mine who doesn't want to use the Windows 7 it shipped with. I'm set against Xandros as I've had no end...

The "be nice to SY01" thread
I realise this is a "mememe" but to be honest I have had such a bad day I just don't care.

How Increase Linux partition size
I am booted on my Ubuntu live CD running GParted, staring at my screen in disbelief. I have 167 GB of unused HDD space I would like to increase my root partition to use. Eeeeeeeeeeeveryone on the web says to use GParted, the thing is the resize / move option does not allow you to INCREASE only decrease...

Linux - a rant
I like Linux, its good at what it does but if the Linux community wants to attack the Windows desktop world its going to need to pull its finger out.
I first started with Linux when you used to have to download a load of floppy disk images and there was no graphical interface. I still...
