Apologises for confusion I have not received the contract but from the interview late on Friday the client said we would like to offer you the contract so just waiting atm.

Yep. He can also terminate your contract immediately. You are not allowed to be off sick when you are in a contract.

There will probably be a clause saying you can be terminated immediately for atrocious spelling as well so you are going to have to be very careful.

How can you be in a gig without a contract? You are pretty stuffed if you are. You've not checked it for IR35 and payment terms and whatever they are you are not going to get them changed now. Working without a contract is a stupid thing to do.

Sub caluse does not cover sick. When you give them a sub you have to do a handover at your own cost so the sub can indeed sub for you, not just sit there not knowing anything, that's offering a body not a substitute.

Generally if you can't attend site you have to tell the agent and the client before a set time in the morning, which should be common sense really.

Don't start a gig without seeing a contract, ever.

Hi seasoned contractors;

If I'm in a contract and and I'll I understand about the sub clause which I could exercise but what do you need to do when you are ill is it a case of calling the agent to inform them of your illness ?
