letter received from HMRC regarding usage of Sanzar solution in 2010

Hi ,

I am a newbie and have also received letter from hmrc regarding my association with sanzar solutions in the tax year ending 5 April 2011. I had left sanzar solutions in Nov 2010 and i guess the product they were using was discontinued after dec 9 2010.

I have been asked to submit details regarding loans and any repayments made.

I do not know who to respond to this letter.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi Vishy,

I've been referred to them as well and completed form 64-8 to act as my tax adviser. I haven't got ant experience with them though but have spoken to them and they are going to back to people in couple of weeks. The only thing I can say is to wait as if the scheme was under investigation in 2010 by HMRC then no tax adviser have any success.

I too was with sanzar for 8 months in tax year 2010-11 and got the letter from HMRC asking the same questions which Ibnul has mentioned earlier. I have been referred to cobham murphy (tax advisors) but now having talked to few other companies who specialize in tax investigations it appears that the scheme of sanzar (usage of EBT) doesnt stand a chance before HMRC. How has been your experience with cobham murphy?

Hope you are ok. I have received the same letter from HMRC as I was using them in 2010-2011 tax year. I blame HMRC as they should close such action in 2010 before individual like you and me to go and use the solution. Anyway try this;
Send email to <removed>
They have closed their online website and only accept emails. They will ask you to send them a scan copy of your letter from HMRC and your tax return for 2010-2011. Then they will put you through tax specialist who can assist you on this. But first send them email and don't attach any of documents. I'm sure they will get back to you.
If in 2010 I knew their scheme is investigated by HMRC I've never used them.

Let me know the progress plz.

I have removed the email address you posted as not only is the website not directing anywhere but also the domain is protected by WHOIS privacy so I really wouldn't recommend any forum users to send anything to that address. I moved out of the offshoring part at the end of 2010, but in the 2011 April tax return they are enquiring, and asking for my service provided Sanzar solution at that time, and asking they know I got loans, and if I could let them know how I have repaid, which date, how. and They will like to investigate. Have anyone else get any letter from Hector ? who has/still using offshore umbrella companies ?

I did figure out that this is not right, and moved to uk companies, and they know that, I am stuck with 7 months usage, any advise on how to answer that letter would be appreciated.
