This would not surprise me.
I had a lot of problems with Exact (a search here will provide the details). What I noticed was that the upper management has changed hands several times since the last couple of years and the people who were on entry/admin and had got my entries wrong literally became head of finance etc over night.
I dealt with the entire upper management and none of them appeared to have enough knowledge or experience , then most of those left and the people below seemingly all got promoted.
A fairly large proportion of people who used to work there have even removed those entries from the Linkedin, which is not a good sign.
The client I worked for removed them from the PSL around the time they started buying google reviews.

We have had details suggesting that Exact Payroll Ltd are in trouble, info has come from both agencies and contractors who are missing payments. Does make you think as to what may be involved, as it is not a small business by the looks of the turnover?Tags: None
