Go American rather than UK
Hi,
I use PowWeb.com (American hosting seems to be cheaper than UK) - if you order 2 years hosting, you get another 6 months free. Works out VERY cheap, since it's only $7.77 a month anyway. Support is open 24*7, and I've not had many issues with them (main one was some time ago when there was a bug in part of their OS, which they fixed pretty quickly. I got an extra month free as compensation as well!).
I have three sites with them, and have recommended them before.

Yep. See here - http://www.zensupport.co.uk/Originally posted by TheMonkeyWill they be on the end of the phone at 9am on a Sunday?
The other thing I find is that the person on the other end of the phone actually knows what they're talking about, which is unusual in my experience.

I have to say they are excellent, both in terms of uptime and support.

Decent Linux / UNIX web host
Ok I've just fallen out with my long term hosting provider because their system is f*cked today and I can't change any email configuration
So - anyone know of a decent hosting provider that supports:
- MySQL - preferably 4.1 +
- PHP - preferably 4.4+
- mod_rewrite
- At least 5Gb/month transfer
- ability to provide completely ISOLATED subdomains.
- At least 250Mb of disk space
- Actually have support open on a Sunday
- Don't go down every 2 days.
- Don't disappear off the internet with your cash.
- Don't have cPanel as it's rubbish.
- Don't have crappy domain reg requirements (I keep my doms at 123-reg!)
So.... any takers?Tags: None
