Synchronizing a folder across 2 drives

Now I use xcopy on PC and rsync on *nux, just work out the commands once and save on every medium for a copy/paste to the command line.

Another vote for rsync on *nix (which includes OS X). It really comes into its own when backing up over a network, for example when backing up websites and mail folders from a hosting ISP (you need ssh access for this).

I liked AllwaySync, the free version works for my use (starts whingeing if you sync too many files too often).

I use the Synch function in Total Commander. It lets me see exactly what will be done before it does it and is *very* simple to use.

It will run from the USB stick too without installing locally.

I want a way to synchronise a folder between a PC's hard-drive and a USB memory stick. It doesn't have to be automatic, or complicated...

Is there anything simpler and better than MS Sync Toy for this basic use-case?

SyncToy is quick and easy. Why do you need something else?

I've not really used it, but have you tried the Windows Briefcase?
You can create one of those on your USB stick and drag files and folders into it, creating a sync partnership.

Maybe overkill but i use Handy Backup 6.8 - Data Backup to DVD, CD, FTP, Network, Online. Enterprise Backup Software for all my syncing needs. Keeps my home server synced with my US dedicated boxes via FTP (the only solution i've found that could reliably do the job too!) but does the same thing locally.
