Then the only thing I can suggest is post in detail your setup and problem to here Subversion Forum - SVNForum.org

I think you can use SVN with a file:// URL , so you could try that instead. I use it all the time, but with an Apache server.
I've seen at least one flakey Tortoise SVN release though, so you could try getting one of the older versions and see if it's better. Same for SVNServe.

Can't help you on this issue, but SVN is very stable and massively widely used. As someone mentioned, tools like Mercurial and Git are flavour of the month/year but SVN is tried and tested and won't require you to learn anything complicated.

Suppose the last ditch is to manually specify the mime-type and see if that works.

Some searching around and a few people indicate that SASL might be a problem.

I think keywords is off by default. You seem to have to add keywords.Originally posted by doodab View PostI would think off, as you don't want to substitute anything in your binary files. I have no idea how to set these though this might help:

I've hooked it up using Apache. Works brill really. I've never tried svnserve so can't help there. But have you checked the access rights to the folder where the subversion repository is? Or its a problem with inetd, some type of conflict.

I have not. I have however tried two seperate clients apps, being tortoise and smartsvn. Both give the same error, and it is only with binary files.Originally posted by Jaws View PostHave you tried using the svn commands from your command line to determine if the problem is with TortoiseSVN or Subversion itself?
