    ...am I best saving them as .doc or .docx? MSWord is the primary format and while I don't need to support OO, I prefer to when possible and don't use any features that require .docx.

    Which format does OO have better support for?

    And no, switching to using OO as the primary tool is not going to happen. So don't de-rail my serious thread otherwise
