    Does this help?

You can check your outgoing mail settings at Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > {name of account} > Outgoing Mail Server.

Certainly for BT, on my iPhone I can only send outgoing email when I have the iPhone connected to their infrastructure, so at home when I'm on my wifi which uses BT Broadband.

They must block the traffic to their mail servers when it doesn't come from one of their sources (e.g. BT Broadband connection or their webmail websites).

For sending email when I'm out and about, I had to setup a Googlemail account, I think you can also have Yahoo and others etc...

    iPhone email

I have loaded my three email inbox details into my iPhone. I can now download and read them whilst on the move. I have two email providers: Tiscali and BT internet. I have even changed the settings so that my Iphone 'fetches' a copy of the email from the server and I can download the version left there using Outlook as normal.

My problem is that I can't send email. Should I be able to?

I thought I would be able to, but maybe I am missing something.

    Any help is welcomed.
