Yea I've flashed mine with custom roms a lot, all from xda-devs.

    I have htc touch diamond.

The key to not risk bricking your phone seems to use the HardSPL which is some kind of alternative bios or something I think.

Then when you flash the rom if it crashes halfway you have a way out.

Look out for updated Radio roms too...my old radio was rubbish and GPS took FOREVER to find me...but now I have the latest and its like 16seconds.

Just follow the beginners guide in your phones specific section... easy enough.

have done it myself several times, always from Modaco but as always, try and do some research on the person who is supplying the ROM (i.e is it a newbie or a well known ROM builder) and any issues others have had with it.

    many times

as mentioned above the process is quite straightforward, but you do need to invest some time into reading faqs about spls, roms, radios first ..

i've seen some posts where people admitted they bricked their device though ..

One of the chaps at ClientCo seems to apply a new ROM courtesy of xda-dev onto his HTC HD every week - looks pretty straightforward from what I've seen.

    WinMo Custom ROM

Has anyone had any experience flashing a WinMo phone with a custom ROM?

Thinking about doing this as there are a few tasty looking ones on XDA Devs but I don't fancy turning my phone into a brick!

Working...
