Thanks all. Daughter uses it for several hours every day so it has to be CS3. I'll look at getting a posher edition of Win 7 I think.

How heavy a user are you of CS3
Personally I've found paint.net (www.getpaint.net) to be perfect for my needs and its free.

Paint Shop Pro 7 works. And that was released in 2000, before XP even.

There's no real reason for applications not to work, except maybe they test the OS version and refuse to install or run. And that's easy to get around.

1. Does it install?
2. Does it install using XP compatible mode?
3. Does it run once it's install in native mode?
4. Does it run once configured to run in XP compatible mode?

Don't trust everything the upgrader tool tells you.

Buy ultimate edition and install it under XP.

Does Win 7 actually allow the install to start?

Edit: A quick search says yes.

As the above, is anyone running CS3 under Win7 please? I'm looking at Win7 Home Premium. The MS upgrade advisor tool says you need a paid upgrade (to CS4 for $169).
