Another vote for Portable Apps. Great for client sites where you don't get Admin rights
On mine (all standalone/portable apps)
PStart (nice little GUI/launcher thing to keep it all in order)
Kitty (better than Putty, as it saves stuff in a local ini file)
CDBurnerXP
TeamViewer (remote access)
a-squared Free (spyware cleaner)
FireFox
Thunderbird
CCleaner
WinSCP
Screamer (internet radio)
Live Messenger
Winamp
PixaMSN

U3 is absolute pants
Any useful (ie virtually all programs) will cost you money to install. Portable Apps will give it to you all for free.
I dumped U3 as well, and got Portable Apps.

I got a 4Gb U3 USB but deleted all the U3 stuff cos I just wanted it for storage.
Now I'm on a gig where I don't get install privileges on the desktop pc so I got all my portable software from http://portableapps.com/.
Currently using a portable version of Firefox cos client only has IE6 (they don't deem FF secure enough!)
My portable apps only take up half a Gb (and 250Mb of that is Open Office) so if you've got a 16Gb USB then space isn't an issue.Last edited by ghl; 10 February 2009, 15:19.

U3 Programs
Got a new 16gb USB keyring drive and it is apparently U3 smart!
Anyone using these launch from USB type of programs, and is it worth the disk space?
