Yes, specific files.. But you can't just drop them onto a disc and expect it to be boot able..Originally posted by ace00 View PostOi! Less noise at the back there (goes for the dog & troll too - don't know who let them in) trying to do some work here!
Really, what makes it bootable - specific files? I guess the BIOS looks for something....really, I don't know, no wind-up.
If you really want to know about stuff like this, then have a read here..

As a matter of curiousity, what is it that actually makes the disc bootable?

Seeing that you have the .iso use this and create a bootable CD/DVD.

I have used it many a times to create PXE boot discs.

Install it - it's not a big program.
Then right click on a iso image and burn to CD - job done.

I use DVDDecryptor to burn ISO files to disc.. Freebie but hard to find after he was forced to take the site down.. If you want a copy, I'll put one up on my server..

The .iso is a disc image, it's not the files themselves, you need a burner like Nero (or various free ones) to actually burn an iso to disc.Originally posted by ace00 View PostI put the .iso file on disc, but it doesn't boot from that.
