    You can always set up a proxy server of your own at home. Squid is an excellent proxy app that runs on windows or Linux and is quick and easy to configure.

    Not iplayer specifically but I can heartily recommend a slingbox if you want to watch UK tv abroad. Kept me going through some long Moscow trips (that and free "specialist" channels on hotel tv )
