    There's a web page about this that some students at Stanford came up with... some of the links might be a bit dodgy though

    To be slightly more helpful: do make sure that you test any possible solution on a copy of the original file rather than take the risk of ruining the original; if at all possible, run any tool you do try on a virtual machine with access to your network disabled.
