Bought a Phillips DVP3020 for £20. Nice and cheep plus it has a hack for multi region. Just a short term stop over till I get the bells and whistles kit in Oct.

    Does the job

It's not multi region, but at that price I don't care.
I got one of these puppies a while back too (maybe 12 months), not as much cheapness as you but I splashed out £20 on this cutting edge beast... for my particular model there is even a hack I found to make it multi region which bought many more happiness to self and 3 wives.

I'd also suggest a modified XBox, as you can possibly get one for around £70, but that gets fiddly - install software etc etc.

When the government (via the ONS) told the BoE that inflation was ~2.0% for the last decade.
