    Just in case anyone else likes walking and is innerested, here's full description/code for some Bing API and Chrome extension stuff.

    You can open a Bing OS map in area of your choice, right click anywhere close to a road to open Street View at that point. You can then use Street view to look at scenery or find a parking spot, press a key and open Bing OS Maps again with that spot marked.
