It's the original garage that was on the side of the house when we moved in back in 2000 - it's been there since the original build; we took bricks from a different part of the house to brick up the garage door way and add a big front window. The back end of the original garage has been annexed by the kitchen to make a utility/laundry room, so the front window is the only natural light.

Is that an integrated garage within the house or a separate one you had to add more insulation and so on? Did you get any windows put in or is it still basically a garage with stuff in?Originally posted by LondonManc View PostOur house was built in 1970 so the garage was of no use for anything wider than a Matiz, etc. We've converted it into a work area, with main desk, filing cabinet, storage cupboards and a separate small computer desk. It's a work in progress, though, with plenty still to do to get it completed but it's perfectly adequate for me for working from home away from the daily household goings on.

Who's got the best dedicated built "work shed?"
Seen a few people talk about having dedicated work-rooms built in the past, either with/without nifty tax breaks.
Who's got what then? Specifically talking about rooms built from scratch, out-buildings converted into offices, etc... share as much or little about cost and so on as you feel happy with, photos/links would be wonderful for gawping.
Considering converting the garage of the place we're buying, or there's a big old greenhouse (2-storey AFAIK) hiding in the garden that could be a contender for replacement/conversion.Tags: None
