Zero byte file - restore? (Linux)
Hi,
An HDD on my home server died when I was backing it up and left a few 4GB files on the backup disk as 0 bytes.
I'm wondering if anyone can give any pointers on whether they can be recovered.
When created on the backup, they would have been on a new disk so I'm hoping they were saved contiguously. I'm wondering if there is any way to correct the file size (linux) or dd the data from the disk to a new file - not sure how to work out the starting address of the file.
Any smart technical bods got a solution?
Cheers,
Al.Tags: None
