Have you tried oXygen (http://www.oxygenxml.com/) it's pretty good, has multiple platform support (the reason we use it) and it has a nice plugin for eclipse.
Also it has most of the benefits of spy but is a shed load cheaper.

I find altova software to be very slow but feature rich. VS 2005 has enough functionality for me, xslt debugging, schema validation, intellisenseOriginally posted by MrsGoofWhat's good whats not.
