That's with a w2k12 r2 licence.
If you have a windows licence already you can pic up a KVM based vps pretty cheap all over the place.
Not sure on the specs you need and vultr are not the cheapest.

vultr.com for instance, pretty cheap and offers snapshots for backup etc.

ehosting.com
I have a few client Umbraco websites hosted with ehosting.com - no issues at all.
So far I can't fault them and performance response has bee second to none.

It's probably over kill but for £16 a month you can get a low spec virtual server from 123 reg... If its low traffic you should be fine, I've got one for my site and a few small client sites (also umbraco).
Edit- just realised how old this post is!

As worst case you can use an Sql Embedded database, especially if end clients are too tight to get a proper sql server license, but really anything with at least .Net 4 is viable
Trust permissions on the server used to be an issue with managed hosting, but unless you're still on Umbraco 4 that's all in the past
Cheapy .Net hosting like discountasp.net or similar would be fine

Umbraco hosting options
I'm looking for somewhere to host an Umbraco CMS site.
Its fairly basic with sql server back end and not a huge amount of traffic.
Cloud server seems a bit OTT - some kind of shared hosting should do but I'm absolutely terrified of signing up to something and then find I don't have the fine grained control that I need and everything is accessed via some control panel. Then again, presumably with Umbraco all I need is access to the web root directory since that's where the umbraco binaries go but I'm still concerned that there could be some restriction and I don't find out until it's too late.
Anyone got any umbraco hosting recommendations?Tags: None
