There's only one thing for it - get yourself to Luton and speak to the PC repair specialist there.

Just submitted an order for a new laptop from the Dark side.
The repair guy I spoke with pointed out to me that in such a feather light ultrabook such as the Sony (less than a kilo) everything's soldered together. So if some insignificant component melted down, all is lost. My 8GB memory upgrade and the expensive Haswell i7.
On the plus side, getting really excited about the i7 5557U Broadwell, 16GB of RAM and a TERABYTE of PCI-E SSD (at a 33-50% discount). The only problem will be how to remove fruit logo.

The bigger problem here is that Sony Vaio don't exist any more.... Vaio does as an independent supplier of laptops to the Japanese market but that is the only market they are focussing on..

I would take it back to whoever sold you the laptop and ask them if they can do a priced repair.
My ultrabook fecked up last year and 2 'local' repair shops took it in to tell me they couldn't sort it after a week of chasing parts and stuff.

I'm sorry for you as Sony VAIO have a reputation of doing that. As your company's data should be backed up I suggest you buy a new non-Sony or non-HP laptop. It's a waste of money repairing laptops that are 3+ years old as the cost of repair is normally what the laptop is worth.

Ultrabook repairs in Romford and surrounding areas
My trusty Sony Vaio Pro Touch decided not to start up tonight.
As it is 3 months out of warranty I'm looking for a reputable repair company. This is my company's ultrabook so I won't take any chances with the repair.
Could anyone recommend any good and trustworthy repair shops east of Stratford?Tags: None
