hyperD, you are the snackmeister! Any chance of you posting me a free sample, that sounds delicious.
FG, I think you wisely avoid the Daddies vs HP debate. It is an emotive issue and a deeply personal choice (even though they're both made by Heinz in Holland anyway).
Tricolore Italian toastie
green pesto
mozzarella cheese, sliced
parma ham
avocado, peeled, stoned and sliced
couple of tomatoes, sliced
salt and freshly ground black pepper
olive oil
Stick these on some focaccia bread and grill for a few minutes. Add fresh basil.
Try Cypriot cooking. Deep-fried Halloumi cheese and deep-fried chunks of cucumber (the oil will go foul and black but carry on until it starts flaming regularly) with pitta and humous and/or tzatziki. I imagine there's more to cypriot cooking than that, but that will do for now.
Problem is you need a small nuke to make Halloumi edible.

Boil some pasta tubes in salted water, drain, stir in a couple of tablespoons of pesto, grate some parmesan cheese on top and grind over a little black pepper. Eat with some ciabatta with a saucer of olive oil and a little balsamic vinegar to dunk. Ready in 10 minutes and full of slow release energy. Sorted.
