The pink palace used to be £7 a night (exactly the same accom you would get on a package hliday) and picks up from the ferry
Stayed in Agios Gordios a couple of years back, the word was that the "Pink Palace" was increasingly dodgy, especially for unaccompanied females. Talk of sexual assault, bullying, coercion etc.
East side is - Tizs river is the highest since records began - got some cracking photos of houses underwater. Broth-in-law has been with the army on flood service for the last 2 weeks.
I recommend a nice long weekend in Budapest.
