I saw Mike Harding in Gloucester many years ago. His Jean Michelle Jamjar act left me a wreck...

Peter Kay has diversified from his observational humour which while humerous wasn't a patch on Mike Harding.
IMHO Peter Kay has the makings of a brilliant comedy actor.

The Catherine Tate show suffers from the same problem as The Fast Show, Harry Enfield and Goodness Gracious Me (even going back to Dick Emery). It's a series of characters with a catch phrase. When you have seen the character once you have seen everything they have to offer, be it saying "you don't want to do that" or "you are awful".
Such shows can be funny once or twice but they can never match Peter Kay, Alan Partridge, League of Gentlement, etc.
Having said that, I do like the grandmother. What a farking liberty!

I have to agree, very funny stuff (much more so than the latest Ricky Gervaise offering; "Extras", that it follows).
Formulaic, but then what successful comedy sketch shows aren't?
The London Gran and the old ponce are particular faves.
"How very dare you?"
