HMRC probably sent the letter in error. It happens.

The only refunds I'm aware of are in cases where settlement was by "voluntary restitution"

For others reading, I found this website: https://www.hmrcloancharge.info/ but it hasn't been updated since 2019.

    HMRC SANZAR - latest?

    Hi,

I settled a loan amount (drastically reduced from HMRC wildly speculative estimate, via my accounting records) for Sanzar case back in 2018/19 I think it was.
Last year I received what looked like another first letter enquiring into my involvement etc etc, and suggesting I must pay up. I called HMRC and they said to monitor the situation, and I have had no further correspondence. The HMRC rep suggested there might even be a repayment of settlement amounts.

Has anyone got the latest on this? I'm nervous about calling HMRC to stir the hornet's nest!

    Thanks

Working...
