Not sure if this helps but a question was asked on AccountingWeb which looks very similar. Answers don't appear to be that useful sadly.

Unless I'm mistaken onus/responsibility of person to declare (even though a lot of people won't know about it) question is if this is on the host tax return or in the UKOriginally posted by Calmbeforethestorm View PostHow are folks not resident in UK for tax purposes affected.??
If they are not resident this tax year or next the LC cannot apply to them can it?
Even if HMRC try to argue that remuneration by way of loans was done in the past , certainly if the years are closed they will have difficulty persuading a non resident to volunteer to make a donation I would have thought.... I suppose if there was an enquiry open on an open year they may try to extract payment via the Australian tax authorities.???

They are willing to share this for a modest contribution to the original cost.
Also I know advice isn't for free but if possible can I email you with a few questions (I'm looking to engage an advisor just wanted to get some initial opinions)
Thanks again
