I know this whole "HMRC as Judge, Jury and Executioner" has muddled waters, but you might want to educate yourself on separation of powers in the UK. I can assure you that at this stage, your case has been nowhere near anything remotely resembling a tax tribunal (it's merely travelled to another office in the HMRC building)

Anyone know what a PPN (Partner Payment Notice) is?

I received a letter today titled 'Late payment surcharge following unpaid accelerated Partner Payment Notice (PPN) Statutory Review of HMRC Decision.

I have no idea what a PPN is and all my correspondence to date (both to & from HMRC) relates to an APN. Can anyone shed any light on this, or this just another example of their ongoing incompetence?

To top it off, their letter does not reference which letter of mine it refers to (though I think I know the details). Part of the letter states that if I don't agree with the upholding of the surcharge assessment, I can ask an independent tribunal to decide the matter, however that's where I thought this letter came from.

Not sure what response to submit, as it appears to be an endless loop of letters & responses going back & forth. BTW, my last letter was early December! Thanks.
