I should mention that we go to Dubai every year in August and fly out again on 1st this year, usually staying for several weeks. We don't stay at JBH though but use Wild Wadi all the time.

Why on earth would anyone do that?

Anyway my next-door neighbour is flying out today to move into a flat in Dubai!

Stick with Jumeriah Beach Hotel. You get free complimentary access to Wild Wadi as much as you like as it's part of the same complex. Access to Wild Wadi for non staying guests is about 300AED person in the summer months (£60 a day pp - adults)

The Atlantis is nice, but too far out and the water park is very exposed to the sun whereas WW is alot more shaded and ideal for families really.

Additionally, the distance from JBH to the malls etc is not far (although taxi's are very cheap).

I'm sure you'll have a great time - you soon get used to the heat/humidity and like I say they are so geared up for kids it shouldn't be a major issue.

I've been in July and it is hot but all the hotels are totally geared up for that especially for kids.

Personally I think the Atlantis is too far out. I'd rather be at JB and have access to all those air conditioned malls with loads of kids activities indoors.

ISTR that the Wild Wadi stays open much later in the summer months to take advantage of the cooler evenings.... although it really isn't that much cooler .... it's just not sun-shiney.

When you do go make sure to go vegetarian and avoid that halal meat won't you.
