    Hmm. As well as being insensitive, it makes no sense that they'd ask for one, regardless of whether she was an "employee" or not.

    From the HMRC P11D guide:

    When don’t you need a form P11D?
    You should not complete a P11D if there are no expenses payments or benefits to be returned for an individual.

    If she was on the payroll, they should have ticked the box on the last PAYE submission to indicate no P11d was due.

  • P11D request from my accountant for my mother

    She was the "company secretary" and I let them know that she past away last June about a week or 2 after it happened, what a load of f'ing numpties.

    She was never an employee either, and I have never made a P11D declaration for her in any of the preceding years.
