You pay for what you get with varifocal lenses. The cheap ones have a very limited field of vision. My myopic prescription (-8.50) requires such a high refractive lens that I need the very super expensive Kryptonite Zircon encrusted spectacle lenses. I wear monthly disposable contact lenses that have long distance corrected in my dominant eye and a weaker one corrected for reading in my other. I've been taking good quality Bilberry extract for 2 years but it's not going any better.
In particular my near vision is fekced. I need to travel with 3 pair of glasses (near, distant and computer). Imagine the face of younger colleagues/manager/clients.

Extremely unlikely your vision is impaired by malnutrition. What does the optician say?
I've been wearing single focal glasses for 20 years and have only just started having issues with close distances (<0.5m) so computer work is still fine. I've been recommended varifocals next.
