    Er, another bunch of idiots tried that earlier.

    7 3 died, plus the scrapyard dog. 7 injured.

    The radiation was detectable 100 yards away.

    Fortunately Co60 is magnetic so they stuck a magnet on a long pole to manipulate the rest of it into a lead container.

    Looking on the bright side (if that isn't an unfortunate phrase in the circs), at least they weren't trying to blow torch "scrap" medical imaging equipment containing large amounts of radioactive materials, as some daft twats tried in South America somewhere.

    BBC News - Seven dead as war bomb explodes in Bangkok scrap yard

    Construction workers found the bomb and sold it, believing it was inactive.

    Warehouse workers used a blow-torch to take the bomb apart and detonated it in the process, reports said.
