I have worked in a womens refuge where men were employed.
The women in refuges know exactly who has abused them and the ones I met were not in fear of men, just one man in particular.

Atkins doesn't say you must eat meat. It only says if you do, it mustn't be in a sandwich.

If I was off a religious persuasion with a restrictive diet based on my religious beliefs, and the charity got any funding from the public purse I would be tempted to take them to court.

Apparently it's legal to do so if the religious place hires.

The refuge can and in my opinion should hire Gay men as well.
You're confusing what they "can" do legally and what they "can" do when you put yourself in the mindset of a battered woman... which is entirely for them to decide as long as they do so within the law.

I can't see why battered wives would only feel unsafe around straight men though. I said a refuge for beaten women, not raped women.
