So now another change of theory: it's all down to stockings and tights, and not CFCs?

The idea is to associate people on the other side of the argument with the holocaust. A dirty trick which is intended to close down the debate. Of course it will backfire on them when eventually it becomes a badge of honour
People have used it on this forum, they will look back in embarresment and shame

Farmers in Somerset(and elsewhere) used to routinely clear out drainage ditches to protect their land from excessive flooding. Nowadays many are happy to take subsidies, and also reap in cash from renting plots of land to Mobile Phone operators.
Their livelihood is less dependant upon keeping their land free from flooding. Hence the lack of effort on their part in performing this duty.

We have had wet winters before, but as yet the jury is till out on whether or not this cycle is happening naturally, or whether or not man is at the root of it all.
Let's get the drainage ditches cleaned out properly and see how the problem looks then.

What about 100 years? Since man started industry and stuff? Yes prevention is important. But for the sake of balance:

The incessant storms and rainfall over the past two months have made this the wettest winter since records began in 1910.

Possibly, "Climate Change" might be having an effect. The fact that the climate has always "changed" seems to be bypassing those who see the whole affair as simply a means of raising guilt taxes/funding more research.
