I've turned upto meetings dressed like that, admitedly they were DR and data migration meetings but even so, I've got the tshirt

When everyone else wears jeans, even the boss, so it's not that bad

The only point I've dressed down slightly was when I made the guy who hired me look under dressed to the point he started to smarten himself up a bit.

To be honest, I try and fit in with how others in the work place are.
I do tend to take my lunches, if it is a reasonable spell, I will do a 9 til 5, however when it is really busy whilst permies will still just do a 9 -5 and willing to let timelines slip, I will get in early and stay late, so any slippage in time is not due to me.

Important thing is to deliver. Dress smartly but if the workplace is fairly casual then don't turn up in a 3 piece suit!

Hi, I'm new to contracting and started my first contract just over a week ago, as a limited company.

Problem is, I'm not sure how to act in the work place. Do I treat it like a normal work place, staying back, have shorter lunch break, staying off the phone and getting on with my work, etc, to look and try and ensure they will have me back. Or should I only be doing what is necessary in case I get stung by the IR35?

The other issue is, if I stay off my how am I going to arrange new contracts?
