It's called the ghost in the machine. Happens to all of us. Much the same as inanimate objects just growing legs and wandering off.

Annoying technology

Damn things! Yesterday my website redirect wasn't working although I'd done nothing to it. Tried various things and could not solve it and gave up, only to find it all mysteriously working a bit later. Naturally this was just after I'd posted on CUK and the host support.

Today the damn dishwasher has done the same thing! The timer would not move on and it kept running when I opened the door so arranged an engineer visit tomorrow AM. Turned it on just now and it's working normally! 6 weeks back my garage door stopped working and I called an engineer only to find 5 minutes later that turn it off and turn it on again solved it! No problems since.

Are machines really what they are supposed to be or are they controlled by annoying little evil spirits?
