I did experience a wave euphoria as the drummer confirmed at 10:15, only to be replaced by an increasing gnawing uncertainty as I awaited news from the "bass player" not helped by finding his mobile switched off and not at home on his land line....
Finally one hour before lift-off I get the OK
Unfortunately I think my vow not to book any more gigs will wane over the next few days and I'll be taking block bookings with "gusto".
