Watch House of Cards Seasons 1 and 2, should give you some really hardcore pointers for the long term political game.

Turn upto the meeting in a frock, then if they fire you, you can claim discrimination and get some money out of it

OMG! This has been the hardest two days of my entire career. I feel mentally and physically exhausted. Been waking at 3am for the last few days, the level of politics, willy waving & threats make Putin and Obama look like a couple of pussies. I've been put into the ringer and being the fat bastard I am didn't go through easily, fought all the way & landed coming out bruised but very much alive.Originally posted by MarillionFan View Post
Coupled with the escalation up to the CMO when someone in that org applied for a job I had advertised and the subsequent block & then the escalation to the board on project Poison Chalice phase 4(the whole thing has now taken 15 months as opposed to the planned 6!!!) I am now summoned to head office for not one but two seperate meetings with the head of my organization, having never has the wrath before.Think Alex Ferguson hairdryer.
Now all I need to do is keep my mouth shut.
Any ideas on how best to argue your case to Alex?
Having been shafted a few weeks back over my new job and the escalations in every direction I have battled, positioned and reduced the friction at the same time have become visible at the board level & gone on a charm / sales offensive. Attack the better form of defense.
Never again. Sheesh.

It's a not walk away type of situation unless I can find a senior level management contract where spousal split divvies make the difference.

That was the week that was
Having resigned my position a few weeks ago to take up the offer of a new internal role It was eventually blocked by the board because Im English(racist bastards), or perhaps because I'm based in England(it feels like the first) and I had to rescind my resignation.
