The lack of private pension provision isn't a government liability, neither are short falls in corporate schemes. The only black hole the government is responsible for is the state pension, and that has been designed in from the start.

Pensions is actually pretty interesting aspect of independence - in the event of Yes vote - surely those who paid taxes to UK should be entitled to some pension? I guess that's the only real aspect that could force Scotland take on some debts in exchange for continued pension payments from UK budget.
