Isn't it the basics of the religion that are being challenged rather than just one guy's actions?

I might be wrong as I have not really read much about it (sorry, too lazy and too many long words).

The last time a religion fought in court that I am aware of was the Dover trial and they soon regretted that!

Never mind, all he has to do is pray to his god and he will be fine.
