It was also used in DIY suicide kits (well I suppose all suicide is DIY by definition), but now the KCl is not available in "no" salt but only in "low" salt, i.e. it is mixed with enough NaCl to avoid the heart-stopping results.

So long as you restrict yourself to 100 bananas a day, with a few 100 gms of lo salt you should be fine ....
