Half the daughter in laws roof blew off a few weeks ago in a big storm oop norf.
Then she found out her house insurance had lapsed a couple of weeks earlier

so the son in law buys himself a ladder for christmas, and fixed the roof himself.

Ah mate, puts my evening of adventure into perspective. Hope nothing too badly damaged. As TM said, get on to the insurers. If no insurers then send the Mrs up into the loft, might just be a roof tile out of place... Had much wind up your way?

Bugger, (pardon the awful pun) it never rains, but it pours.

Fortunately your home insurers will be geared up for this sort of thing and should give you the nod over the phone to get emergency repairs done to avoid further damage, then fix it properly. Odds are they will have suitable companies on a list to call for that.
